Children's Museum

We bought season passes to the Children's Museum this year. We went with some dear friends of ours the other day. The girls had a blast playing with some of their best friends and so did I with one of mine.

Reese looks like she is doing some serious
problem solving on the glass window.

Splish Splashing Fun

It's starting to get hot here; in the 90's already....

The kids have been asking for me to take them to the pool lately. Me being mom awesome , did one better
, brought the pool to them!

I don't think they noticed the lack of water slide, the only 4 inches of water or the fact that it was barely big enough for all three of them. They had a great time splashing around tonight.

Little known Paolillo Family Fact: The red cozy coupe in the background never moves. It's sole purpose there is so that Clara and sometimes Reese can climb up and onto the fence to look into the neighbor's yard and talk with their kids. I find her there often on top of the fence just watching.

Affections

Kaiya is getting pretty desperate for attention now that there are 3 kids vying for mine all day.

(thanks spell check for teaching me how to spell vying)...

She has given up hope of me petting her during the day while the kids are awake. Thus she has resorted to drastic measures and the next best thing; my kids' affections.

She will sit on Clara's lap while she is watching a movie and has started sleeping with her sometimes.

Kaiya doesn't really do much with Reese; I think she's too wiggly.

With Brynn, Kaiya will sit and nuzzle her when she is the slightest bit still. She has a lot more tolerance for wiggly babies it seems. Whenever Brynn is laying or sitting on the floor, Kaiya is right there next to her, touching her. It's sweet.

Pay no attention to the fact that Brynn is eating
breakfast while lying half way off a bath mat as
I take a break from getting dressed to snap a picture.
We are multi-taskers in the morning.

My Sweet Reese

I love my Reese's curls. I think they accent her personality perfectly. Bouncy and cute.

Clara's Graduation

Clara graduated from preschool tonight! It was such a sweet ceremony with all the kids singing a few songs, one about mom's being their sunshine and dad's being their rocks. Then all the kids came down and gave the moms a flower and the dads a rock. It was really sweet.

Clara had such a great year with the High Flyers. This class is dedicated to the kids with summer birthdays that didn't go to kindergarten. They had so much fun with lots of field trips and learning about the world around them. I can't wait until Reese goes to the High Flyers. I am actually a little sad that Brynn won't be going since her birthday is in March.

Working in the yard

Rob and I have been redoing our front yard landscaping. The children decided to help, by digging in mud, sitting in pools of water, basically getting as dirty as possible. Never mind that Clara and Reese are still in their pajamas. Brynn's just happy to be part of the big girl fun.

Spring Time Fun

Our new home is right next to a pond which the community home owners association likes to refer to as a lake. It's actually very nice to walk around and the girls ride their bikes there almost daily. There are ripe blackberries to be picked and fish to feed.

We have discovered one lone carp that apparently someone has thrown into the lake. I dubbed him Moby Dick of Meadow Lake. At about a foot long, he dwarfs his fellow the 3 inch sun perch.

Mother's Day

So today was Mother's day. Pretty good day. I slept in till 9:30 and then was back in bed for a nap at 11. I haven't done that in years.

We were out doing errands in the evening with the family and thought we'd go find a place to eat. Now, we know that it was Mother's day, a day notorious for long waits at restaurants. As we drove past a few restaurants with people spewing out the doors, we saw one, the Brick House Tavern, that didn't have anyone waiting outside and had visible empty seating available.

That should have been our first clue.

Our second clue should have been when I turned to Rob and said "oh, my brother said this was a good place".

Our third clue, and actually the first one that almost registered in our brains as not being the right place to eat was when we asked for a highchair for Brynn. Apparently they don't have highchairs.

Our fourth clue was the lady workers' attire. I think Rob has a crick in his neck from looking up at the ceiling.

Our fifth clue was the posters of scantily clad women on the hall walls going to the bathroom and apparently inside the men's bathroom. Don't worry, the ladies' room had a few "classy" posters of men with a sledge hammer and working out.

However, despite all of this, we did have a good time. Since there were few people at the restaurant, we didn't mind that the girls were up and playing around. The food was really good, the waitresses were very nice and we didn't have to wait to be seated.

I am guessing father's day will have a long wait time though.

426 days later

Okay, so it's only taken me 1 year and 2 months, 5 emails to 2 different accounts and 10 minutes of trying every password I have ever used in my emailing past to update my blog. Seems pretty reasonable if you know me.

So, to catch everyone (is there really anyone?) up, Brynn is now 1 and is walking. She just started a week ago and is trying her best to keep up with Clara and Reese. It's so cute. Clara is getting to be such a young, beautiful girl, it almost breaks my heart when I see her in some outfits that make her older than what my mind thinks she should be. Reese finally has enough hair to put up in a pony tail or pig tails. Reese is still very much Reese...anything for a laugh and sweet as ever. Oh, my sweet Reese.

We moved houses. A whole 4 streets over (literally). We live about 8 houses down from really good friends of ours so it's great for Clara to be able to run down to her friend's house to play and vice versa.

Hopefully I will be able to update this blog more frequently, which really shouldn't be such a hard goal to reach. I have 425 days to accomplish that. Let's hear it for attainable goals.
